Two-Person Bathroom Remodel

One issue people have with a single bath is that it can only accommodate one person at a time. If there are two people in the bathroom at once, there is no room to move. A consideration that could be made is to enlarge the bathroom to make it useful for two people at the same time. This can save time in the morning when getting ready for work and just make the room more livable. What changes can you make to your one-person bathroom to achieve a two-person bathroom remodel?

Two Sinks

One way you can upgrade your bathroom is to have a double sink vanity. Each person can have their own area to store their bathroom toiletries, so they are not getting mixed together. This way each person can find their own things faster in the morning without rooting through all the stuff to see which is theirs. Both people can be getting ready at the same time as well.

Add Privacy

You can also increase the space but keep the privacy by putting up some walls to create the look of two smaller bathrooms in the one larger bathroom space. You can have an open design but have private areas set up, such as where the toilets are so that you can be together but still have privacy. You can put up walls, possibly hang a curtain or use a privacy screen. The changes can be permanent or have something that can be put up and taken down as needed.

More Shelving/Storage

You can set up the bathroom to have two separate storage areas to keep all your items organized and yet still separated. You can either do this for significant others, two siblings, or have an area designated for guests to use. You could put more than one of these to use at the same time as well. If you have a bathroom that guests will use that is already shared, you can have a guest storage area where they can keep their items for easy use while they visit.

Two Person Appliances

To make your bathroom two-person friendly, you could also add two-person fixtures. This could include two commodes, a double shower (one shower head on each side), two sinks, two mirrors, etc. This would be good for a couple that is very active and doesn’t want to wait for shower or bathroom time. This way, either can use the bathroom without encroaching on the other.
